Cholo Cholo Hot Springs

The tubs

The hot spring area has four connected tubs, each at a different temperature, with roofs over part of the water. A Japanese writer who visited in 2022 reported every tub above 40°C. Staff put the hottest, the mushroom bath, at 45°C (she suspected that was an overstatement) and the source at 52°C. The water is clear and flows through continuously. In 2022 there was no cold plunge pool, but August 2026 Google reviewers mention a separate cold pool, so you can now cool off between soaks.

Bathing is mixed and swimwear is required. You pay at the counter and get a wristband. The official site and SAYS (July 2026) both say public hot spring entry runs in four-hour sessions.

The water

The same 2022 report gives the water as weakly alkaline at pH 8.1, heated by deep groundwater rather than volcanic activity. The operator lists potassium, sodium, sulphate, calcium and magnesium, but we found no published lab figures for Cholo Cholo itself. Private pools and the swimming pool

The official site lists six private pools, two filled with hot spring water and four with normal water, each taking up to 20 people. SAYS gives RM60–300 depending on how many hours you book, and 2026 reviewers paid RM60. Two recent reviews are worth reading before you book: in August 2026 one guest found their private hot pool too hot to get into, with no way to cool it, and in July 2026 another said the gaps in the wooden door let passers-by see in.

Separate from the hot spring, there is a regular swimming pool and a children's pool. A May 2026 reviewer listed a combined hot spring and swimming pool ticket at RM15. SAYS says the swimming pool opens Friday to Sunday and on public holidays, 10am–7pm.

Facilities

The changing room has a shower and toilets. The 2022 visitor called them basic, while a July 2026 reviewer found the toilets, changing area and kids' pool clean. There is a rest area with artificial turf and beach chairs, partly in full sun. Space for bags is tight, so a June 2026 reviewer suggests renting a hut, which a May 2026 reviewer listed at RM10 plus a RM10 deposit. Coconuts sell for RM5 (August 2026).

The official site also advertises a campsite, an event hall and 12 room types, with online room booking marked "coming soon". We could not confirm that rooms are taking guests yet.

Expect to use Malay at the counter; the 2022 visitor found little English spoken.

When to go

Daytime was quiet on the 2022 visit, with the tubs sometimes empty. Midday sun makes the hot tubs hard going, so mornings after 8am opening or evenings are more comfortable. If you are heading on to Genting Highlands, the B66 back road climbs there from Batang Kali.
